Crochet Today

I'm no expert crocheter. Actually, I'm just a beginner. But I really love it! And I've loved it all my life. For the last year or so, I've religiously looked through every Crochet Today that has come out. Every one! And I've wanted to buy every one! But it just wasn't in the books.

What I hadn't shared with you is, I got a 2 year subscription for Christmas!!! And it has been life changing! I learned how to crochet just after the holidays. And wow! I've been missing out on some serious fun!

Now my late afternoons are spent with my little girls loving every pattern in my magazines. And me, trying to figure them out. :) I really want to make the girls some special toys. And my boys...they've requested a blanket each! I'm super glad that this magazine has changed our lives. Literally! This is going to be so much fun! :)

Lion King Iris

Let me share a little secret with you, I'm really falling in love with gardening! For Mother's Day, I got 20 bulbs of this iris. It's the Lion King! My boys picked them, just based off of the name. :)

We already have irises growing all the way around our house. But these are just stunning. And today, I finally got them in the ground! Now I just can't wait until they grow. I really want to see what these blooms look like in person. I bet they are going to be beautiful! :)

Survivor Bracelet

Goodness! I'd love to own this bracelet. I just think it's so beautiful! With a strong meaning behind it. As a Domestic Violence survivor, I always want to pay it forward. I want to help others that are in the same position as I once was. I know how difficult it can be.

I would never change what I went through. It shaped me. Made me the woman I am today. Also, I got 4 beautiful children. All that suffering, it was worth it, to have my babies. I just wish I could have protected them from the violence more.

But we're moving on. More than a year later, we're all stronger. And better off. We'll never forget our struggles. But it's nice to live in a safe home. We'll never forget our past. But we are always looking toward a better tomorrow. :)

The Royal Wedding

It was stunning. The wedding. The dress. The entire event. And because I had to work, we recorded it. On Saturday, we all dressed up. Yes, even my boys! And we watched the Royal Wedding. My girls just couldn't believe that the princess was marrying the prince! It was so magical. Such a fun day for us. :)

I Really Wish We Had These...

I've never seen or heard of "Mom to Mom" or "Consignment Sales" around here. But then again, I live in a small town. Which shrinks to about half it's size when the college students leave.

But I'd seriously love to find a sale like this. I have 4 kids. And I'm a single mom. These types of sales would help so much! I'm not even lying. But until I can find great deals like Jen, I do have lots of friends. And we do some swapping between our kids' clothes. :)

Sewing

Trina has been inspiring me so much lately. Have you been reading her blog? I have. Every day I go to her blog. Just hoping that she has posted something. Trina has been sewing a lot lately. Using things in her closet that just don't work anymore. You know, to make things that do work. So impressive!

Trina is cute as a button. And did you see that cute dress? Well, it made me just run through my closet. Looking for things that I haven't been wearing lately. And I have a few shirts that I want to try making into something more wearable. :)

Happy Easter!

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Easter! I'm so excited to be entering this new chapter of my life. Religion has literally saved me and my kiddos this year. It's the center of our life. And the entire reason why we have survived. That much I know.

Today is much more than bunny rabbits and eggs. I'm positive that even my itty bitties understand that. I'm hoping that all of you have a very blessed day! Happy Easter! :)

Kandee

This lady, she inspires me. Kandee has been through so much in her life. Well, of the part that I know of. Kandee shares so much of her life. Her kids, her struggles, her past, and all the happiness! She always has such an optimistic view on life. And is such a great mom!

Look at her little "cupcake" her. Such a precious doll! I just don't know where to begin. In my darkest days, Kandee gave me hope. As I started this new life, I questioned many things that I was doing. Was I doing this for me? Or for my kids? Would my kids be better off in the situation that we were in? They still had their dad. Or should we leave? To be safe. And happy.

Many nights, I would sit there and listen to Kandee's stories. I religiously read her beauty blog, and her personal blog. And I realized that I had done right. If not for me, for my kiddos. Because now, they are safe. And so happy. Things may not be easy. But we're together. And making the best of our life together.

Whenever I need a little inspiration, I head to Kandee's blog. She fills my heart with love, understanding, and all the things I need to heal. I feel more refreshed after reading her posts. And I feel like I have the chance to do more good in my kiddos' lives. Take a minute and go visit Kandee. I promise, you won't regret it! :)

Little Golden Books

My boss, J, he bought my kids some pretty incredible Christmas gifts this year. But honestly, these books are their favorite gift. Every night we read at least 3. And another 2 at any and all nap times! I'm not even joking. But it's a good thing. Something I'm super glad that they enjoy. Because I think school and education are just so important. I'm glad that all my kids enjoy reading time. :)

It's Halloween Time!

Unfortunately, my kiddos have never had the chance to dress up for Halloween. We've never been able to celebrate it. Except Jacob. For his first Halloween I dressed him up as a little frog. He was so cute!

But this year, I was determined that things were going to be different. Even if I had to make my kiddos' costumes. But you know that amazing man I keep talking about? Well, he went out and bought my kiddos their costumes!

Miss Lilah is going to be Minnie Mouse. She squeeled when she saw the costume. We knew it would be perfect!

I was a little shocked by my little princess. She wanted to be a witch! Not a princess. But she was sure to tell us, that she didn't want to be a scary witch. :)

Mr. Travis, well all he has been able to talk about is dinosaurs. His eyes got as big as plates, when he seen this costume! I'm glad my little boy got to have it.

The toughest decision, was for Jacob. He just didn't know what he wanted to be. He thought about a fireman, or a police man. Then he saw the batman costume. He really liked the cowboy. But his heart just grew ten sizes when he saw Spider Man!

I'm so excited about this year. We're planning a small dinner and trick-or-treating with some of the neighbors. And my kids are so excited. So am I! This is going to be a first for our little family. And I'm really glad. Who knows, I might throw on a tail and some ears, paint my face, and have a blast with my kiddos too! :)
